The
book is divided into fourteen chapters dealing with
all the aspects of palynology encompassing most recent
information including an introductory chapter highlighting
the organizational development of palynology. The initial
chapters of the book are devoted to the classical aspects
of palynology embracing microsporogenesis, pollen wall
development, pollen chemistry, pollen morphology in
relation to plant taxonomy, pollen-pistil interactions,
pollen viability and storage, and adaptation of pollen.
The other branches like pollen biotechnology, pollen
allergy melissopalynology and forensic palynology are
known to be the major applied fields of palynology dealing
with biotechnological, biomedical and criminological
